Anna Pidgeon Named Fellow of the American Ornithological Society

Dr. Anna Pidgeon, Beers-Bascom Professor of Conservation and AOS Fellow Beers-Bascom Professor of Conservation Anna Pidgeon was named a Fellow of the American Ornithological Society (AOS) in September 2022 in recognition of her contributions to ornithology and to the AOS. Dr. Pidgeon is especially well known for her work on avian ecology, and analyses of habitat quality. Her work spans local projects, such as in the Baraboo Hills, to international efforts, such as in Argentina, to nation-wide studies of bird community patterns across the conterminous United States. All of her research has a strong conservation dimension and provides both insights and datasets that allow conservationists and landowners to provide better habitat for birds and other taxa.
