Research
Aims:
I. Research: To understand fundamental mechanisms shaping ecological interactions, evolutionary processes, and eco-evo feedbacks in human modified environments. By studying ecosystem responses to disturbances (i.e. pollution, temperature shifts, invasive species), we aim to contribute insights to:
(a) The fields of ecology and evolution.
(b) Conservation, restoration, and regulation of aquatic ecosystems and amphibians.
II. Research Education-Integration: To investigate how outreach/community science efforts influence community perception and understanding of science we:
(a) Collaborate with artists, educators, and engineers to generate resources for science communication and for training community members to participate in community science initiatives.
(b) Study how science communication efforts (outreach and community science) influence public perception and understanding of science.
