Research
Dr. Rickenbach’s research activities are constrained, but also inspired by his leadership role as Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Policy and Integrity as part of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Graduate Education. By training and experience, he is a forester and a social scientist with experiences in varied methodologies applied to pressing forestry, natural resource, and agricultural questions. He has also applied social science techniques to leadership questions in higher education and research leadership. In general, he actively participates in collaborative research as a co-investigator, graduate mentor, and thought partner on varied use-inspired research projects that explore how institutions shape policy or practice.
